Irish music played in the Centre Culturel Irlandais

Association Irlandaise de Paris

Rentrée - Irish traditional Music and Dance classes

· From Thursday 24 September and every following Thurdays evenings, from 6pm, Maison Basque, 59 avenue Gabriel-Péri, 93400 Saint-Ouen

Come and try one (or several) of our 17 workshops - all main Irish traditional instruments, set and step dancing, traditional singing, from beginner to advanced levels.

Reduced rates for under 26 and people with limited income

Maison Basque, 59 avenue Gabriel-Péri Saint-Ouen (93400) (métro : Garibaldi – ligne 13 ou Saint-Ouen – ligne 14). Open to all. Free entry. Bar on-site

New: Irish harp workshop with our new teacher Ciara Fegan

· From Monday 28 September and every following Mondays, Espace Camac, 92 rue Petit, 75019 Paris

Weekly classes for beginners (6:45-7:45pm) and confirmed harpists (8-9:00pm)

Harp will be available free of charge to save you having to bring your own. It is also possible to rent a harp to practice at home.

Weekly Irish traditional music session at the Association's premises (slow and fast-pace)

· Thursday 24 and 31 September, from 9.30pm, Maison Basque, 59 avenue Gabriel-Péri, 93400 Saint-Ouen

Open to all musicians. Free entry. Bar on-site.

Uisce - A Tale of Salt and Wood

· Monday 21 September at 7pm, Chapelle Saint-Patrick, Centre Culturel Irlandais, 5 rue des Irlandais, 75005 Paris

Fiona Fauchois – Soprano & Performer& Nataliya Nikolskaya – Pianist & Performer

Produced by Fiona Fauchois, Uisce – A Tale of Salt and Wood draws on Kathleen Handrick’s fictional monologue, inspired by the life of Michael Rogers (1860–1936), a seanchaí and prisoner at Frongoch internment camp. The performance interweaves words from Handricks’s text with songs by Samuel Barber and Benjamin Britten.

The performance will be followed by drinks at La Contrescarpe, 57 rue Lacépède, 75005 Paris.
