Accessibility policy

The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade is committed to making ireland.ie accessible, in accordance with S.I. 358/2020 and the EU Web Accessibility Directive.

This accessibility statement applies to ireland.ie.

Compliance status

Ireland.ie is partially compliant with WCAG 2.2 AA Guidelines, and with the due to the exceptions listed below.

Non-accessible content

• Images – alternative text may be missing from some image descriptions
• PDFs – may contain scanned documents or content that is not readable by assistive technologies
• Colour contrast may not always be sufficient on some pages
• Text is clipped when resized on some pages.

This is not an exhaustive list and is currently undergoing a review.

How we test

We use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level A and Level AA to test the level of conformance.
