A Coruña
- On the night of the 17 March, the emblematic Tower of Hercules will light up in green to commemorate St. Patrick’s Day.
Alicante
- On Monday 17 March, there will be a special St. Patrick´s Day mass in the Iglesia de la Inmaculada (Torrevieja), with some Irish language, hymns, music and a special blessing of the shamrock. Following the mass, there will be traditional Irish music and dance in the Plaza de la Constitución from 11am-1pm, where the Mayor will be presented with the shamrock.
Barcelona
- The 13th Mediterranean Currach Regatta for St. Patrick´s Day will take place on 15-16 March at the Base Nàutica Municipal de Barcelona near Platja de la Mar Bella in Poblenou. It will be a two-day event of festivities celebrating Irish culture, promoting marine conservation and the annual regatta. Saturday´s celebrations will run from 10am-6pm, with rowing demonstrations, music and dance performances, and cultural, art and scientific workshops. The regatta will be on Sunday, from 10-2pm. - Delorgan Dance & Music Company will be celebrating St. Patrick´s Day with several shows from 15-17 March. They will be performing free at the Currach Regatta on 15 March and in the Hard Rock Café on 17 March. On 16 March, they will be offering a ticketed event titled "JOURNEY TO IRELAND", a musical work inspired by the Irish diaspora in America at the beginning of the century. - An exhibition of three contemporary Irish artists, titled Panorama, will be taking place in the Uxval Gochez Gallery and Project Space, 13 - 31 March. It will feature the work of Irish artists Aisling Conroy, Claire Halpin and Mark Redden. The exhibition will present a curated installation of newly created artworks from each of the three exhibiting artists comprising painting, sculpture, sound and film responding to the space and context of the gallery. - Irish dance school and company Nuala Irish Dancers will be marking St. Patrick´s Day with Irish dancing, music and workshops for all ages, on Saturday 15 March from 11am-2pm, Joan Blanques Street (between Travessera de Gràcia and Ramón y Cajal). Bilbao
- LagunCara will be celebrating St. Patrick´s Day this year with a lunch and music in Bilbao, a get-together in Donosti-San Sebastián and a celebration of mass for the feast day itself in Vitoria-Gasteiz. For more details on dates and times, please see their webpage here

- On St. Patrick´s Day, the Center of Irish Studies in Cáceres (UEx) is proud to be celebrating the I Jornada de Difusión de la Cultura Irlandesa de la UEx. More information, along with the schedule of the day, can be found here
Granada
- The Irish Studies Circle at the University of Granada will organize a series of events on occasion of St. Patrick’s Day this year. On 17 March, there will be a talk entitled “From the Shannon to the Shenandoah: Irish Music Across the Atlantic” in the Aula Permanente de Formación Abierta, at 9.30am. The celebrations will continue on Friday 21 March in O´Daly´s Bar from 6pm onwards, with readings, dance and music. Everyone is welcome to join. Lugo
- To celebrate the feast day of Saint Patrick, Irish folk band Shenanigans will be playing in Galo Restaurant, Friday 14 March at 8pm (Rúa Isaac Díaz Pardo 1). Entry is free and everyone is welcome along.
Madrid
- Semana de Irlanda is back in Madrid—bigger and greener than ever - from 10 – 17 March. There is a vibrant programme packed with activities for everyone: live music, Irish dance performances, literature, film, gastronomy, traditional sports and many surprises. - A spectacular St. Patrick’s Day Parade, organised by Bras Rodrigo and the Fundación de Banda de Gaitas del Principado de Asturias, will fill Madrid’s Gran Vía on Saturday 15 March at 5pm, with over 1,000 participants, including bagpipe bands from across Spain and with St. Joseph’s Pipe Band from Clondalkin, entertainers and Irish dancers. There will be an open-air concert after the parade in Plaza Callao, with participation of Irish group Pauline Scanlon and more. Please see here for more details on all the activities.
- Irish Treble will be celebrating St. Patrick´s Day with their music and dance show ‘Viaje Celta’ (Celtic Journey), which they will perform in Madrid (Friday 14 March Sala Galileo Galilei, 9pm) and Valladolid (Saturday 15 March Centro Cultural Miguel Delibes, 8pm). - Collins Irish Pub (C/Sagasta 26 Madrid) will be celebrating St. Patrick´s Day with a traditional Irish music session, on Sunday 16 March from 12.30-2.30pm. Everyone is welcome along.
- The Spanish Irish Business Network are organising the 10th St. Patrick´s Day picnic, in collaboration with Madrid Harps GAA and Electrocor Futbol Club, on Sunday 16 March from 12.30-5pm, in Parque de la Cabilda, Hoyo de Manzanares, Sierra de Guadarrama. - The Luna Celt Dance Company will be celebrating St. Patrick´s Day with a range of activities and concerts across Spain. For more information on their programme, please consult their webpage here. You can catch them in the Teatro Monumental, Madrid, on 14 March at 10.30pm and they will perform alongside The GreenTones in Santa Ponsa, Mallorca, on 16 March as part of the St. Patrick’s Day celebrations organized by the local council there. The official launch of the Asociación Española de Danza Irlandesa will coincide with the St. Patrick´s Day festivities, which aims to support education, performance, and community engagement for the growing Irish dance scene in Spain.
- Madrid Harps GAA club have organised open training sessions this year, as part of the St. Patrick´s Day celebrations, on 12 March at 8pm and 15 March at 11am. Everyone is welcome along to watch and you will be encouraged to try and join some drills! Locations are still to be confirmed, so keep an eye on their Facebook and Instagram pages closer to the date.
- The Irish Rover Irish Pub and Moby Dick will be celebrating St. Patrick´s Day with a variety of concerts and a jam session dedicated to Irish music. For a full line up of events, please consult their webpages.
- The Madrid Hash House Harriers will host their annual Saint Patrick´s Day run on Sunday 16 March at 1pm. The event will take place near Hoyo de Manzanares (just off the A-6) and more details will be posted nearer the time on www.madridhhh.com
- La Fontana de Oro Irish Pub will be hosting a digital art exhibition celebrating Irish culture, on 10 March at 9pm. It will feature a collection of artworks inspired by Irish legends, folklore, and history. The pieces will be presented digitally, allowing visitors to experience the art in an immersive and interactive way, along with some Irish music.
Málaga
- Classical Irish guitarist Simon Taylor will perform a concert in the Sociedad Económica de Amigos del País de Málaga on March 6th & 7th at 7pm. Please reserve your seat by emailing sociedad.economica.mlg@gmail.com
- There will be a special mass for St. Patrick's Day in the Parroquia de San Patricio, on Monday 17 March at 11am (C/Abogado Federico Orellana Toledano 2, Carretera de Cádiz). All are welcome and remember to wear something green.
Santander
- St. Patrick´s Day celebrations will take place on Sunday 16 March in the Auditorio del Sardinero from 4-7pm. Events will include activities for children with games, crafts, face painting and giant bubbles, Irish dance workshop and a concert. For more details pelase contact Annie Chambers on 661025957.
Santa Cruz de La Palma
- Santa Cruz de la Palma will be celebrating St. Patrick´s Day from 14-16 March. The celebrations will see over 30 musicians from Ireland and Spain on the island for the two-day event, which will include music sessions, concerts and street parades. There will be a special tribute to Dennis O´Daly, the Irishman from Cork who brought about the first City Hall in Spain elected by popular vote. Later in the year, in October, Santa Cruz de la Palma will celebrate their first La Palma Irish Fleadh, organised by the organisers of the Cáceres Irish Fleadh.
Valencia
- The Valencia Irish Cultural Association (VICA) will be celebrating St. Patrick´s Day on the 9-10 March. Their annual St. Patrick´s party will run from 11-1pm on Sunday 9th, in the CIM Benimaclet, C/ del Baró de San Petrillo 14. The event will include snacks and tea, live traditional music and céilí dancing, a Pop-Up Gaeltacht, raffle, face painting and storytelling for the children. The following evening at 8.30pm, VICA's Readers Group will host a reading and round table discussion from the memoirs of Michael D Higgins and Mary Robinson with the title "Presidents of Ireland Past and Present: Voices that Carry". This event will take place in Sankofa Espai Cultural, C/ Beata Agnès 10. Everyone is welcome along.
