*We share responsibility for the marked states with the Consulate General of Ireland in Los Angeles, California. The Consulate in San Francisco provides consular services (including passports and visa applications) to those states, while the Consulate in Los Angeles oversees trade, political and cultural relations.

To check the status of your passport please track it through the DFAT Track your Passport website. For any other passport questions please contact our consular officers via WebChat who can be reached Monday to Friday 06:30 -12:30.

*Please note that the Consulate General of Ireland San Francisco does not processes Foreign Birth Registrations (FBR) - obtaining Irish citizenship through an Irish-born grandparent, and can not advise on or access FBR applications. Processing of Foreign Birth registration has resumed in Dublin on a phased basis from Monday 15 November, 2021.
