• Wednesday, September 16th at 6:00pm: The IBO is hosting their monthly Evening Event. This will take place at the Bank of Ireland NYC, highlighting Christine Kinealy, Director of Ireland’s Great Hunger Institute, Quinnipiac University, as the presenter. This presentation explores the experiences of Black abolitionists, actors, and activists—including Frederick Douglass and Paul Robeson—who visited Ireland between 1830 and 1930. Their stories offer a fresh perspective on Ireland’s complex history of diversity and provide timely insights into the opportunities and challenges shaping an increasingly multicultural Ireland today.

• November 21st – January 3rd: Closing out the year, we are bringing back one of New York City’s most sought-after holiday theatrical events, The Dead, 1904. • Friday, September 25th at 10:45am: Philadelphia’s Museum of the American Revolution invites you to attend a discussion on “The Declaration in Ireland”, part of the conference A Convening on the International Legacy of The Declaration’s Journey. The lecture will be delivered by Dr. Scott C. Breuninger, Dean of the Honors College at Virginia Commonwealth University, and will explore the impact of America’s Declaration of Independence on Ireland and its own journey toward independence.
