The Ambassador emphasised Ireland's continued support for Ukraine, including through providing political, financial and humanitarian aid. She affirmed that Ireland will remain a vocal ally, prioritising our support for Ukraine during our EU Presidency.

As EU Presidency, Ireland will continue to:

  • Support robust targeted sanctions against Russia.
  • Work to advance Ukraine’s path to EU accession.
  • Work to ensure that Ukraine continues to have access to the finance it needs, including to defend itself against Russia’s ongoing illegal aggression.

The 'Monday Movement' has provided, every week since Russia's full-scale invasion in 2022, a place for politicians, the diplomatic corps, aid organisations, and civic society, to gather to support the people of Ukraine. The event is organised under the leadership of Gunnar Hökmark and Fredrik Malm.
