Upcoming EU job opportunities

In line with the needs expressed by the EU institutions, EPSO is making preparations for the following competitions to be published in 2026:

  • IT experts 2 fields (grade AD8 - AI, Cybersecurity) - September
  • Data management experts (grade AST) - month and date to be confirmed
  • Lawyer-Linguists for the European Court of Justice (grade AD) - month and date to be confirmed
  • Lawyer-Linguists for the European Parliament, the Council of the EU and the European Commission (grade AD) - month and date to be confirmed

The following competitions will most likely be published in 2027 (month and date to be confirmed):

  • Assistants for Parliamentary body (grade AST)
  • Lawyers 4 fields (grade AD – Competition law, Financial law, Economic and monetary union law, Energy law)
  • Lawyers 4 fields (grade AD – Artificial intelligence law, Criminal law, Procurement law, Litigation)
  • International affairs specialists (grade AD)
  • Translators (grade AD)

Supports we offer for the EU recruitment process

The Department of Foreign Affairs offers Irish candidates support at all stages of the EU recruitment process. To help candidates prepare for the preliminary tests, we provide training packs in partnership with EU Training.

The Department also arranges free information and training sessions to help Irish candidates prepare for EU competitions. These sessions are open to all Irish citizens who have registered for a specific competition, or those who intend to do so.
