Visas
A visa is a certificate in your passport or travel document that shows you are authorised to land at an Irish port or airport Ireland. However, there may be a number of other conditions you need to meet before you are permitted to enter Ireland.
On arrival at the airport, make sure that you have copies of the documents submitted with your visa application in case of inspection by immigration officers.
Important notice: Visa application processing changes
Please note that effective 15 October 2025, The Consulate General of Ireland, Boston will cease processing visa’s for visa required nationals traveling to Ireland who reside in MA, ME, NH, RI, & VT.
All future Visa applications and supporting documents should be submitted to the Embassy of Ireland in Washington D.C. at 1700 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, The Mills Building Suite 700, Washington DC 20006 as advised via AVATS.
Visa Applications received before 15 October 2025 will continue to be processed by the Consulate.
