Irish Film Festival Celebrates Eight Years of Irish Cinema in Thailand

8 October, Bangkok – The Embassy of Ireland in Thailand is delighted to announce the return of the Irish Film Festival 2026, marking the festival's eighth edition in Thailand. Taking place throughout October in Bangkok and Chiang Mai, the festival will showcase a diverse selection of contemporary Irish cinema, bringing Ireland's acclaimed storytelling and filmmaking to audiences across Thailand.

This year's programme features a compelling mix of drama and documentary films that reflect Ireland's creativity, culture, and distinctive cinematic tradition. Showcasing the best of Irish talent, including Oscar award winning actor, Cillian Murphy, and IFTA nominee for Best Actress in a Lead Role, Eleanor O’Brien, audiences will have the opportunity to enjoy screenings of Small Things Like These, Báite, Spilt Milk, Girls & Boys, and A Quiet Love, presented in their original languages with Thai subtitles.

The festival, which will take place at House Samyan, Bangkok, and SFX Cinema, MAYA Chiang Mai, offers film lovers across Thailand the opportunity to experience some of the most exciting contemporary works from Ireland's vibrant film industry. Admission to all screenings is free of charge. Tickets will be available at the cinema box office one hour before each screening on a first-come, first-served basis.
