Meet our 2025/2026 Ireland Fellows from Tanzania, the Seychelles and the Democratic Republic of Congo
The Embassy of Ireland is proud to introduce our 2025-2026 Ireland Fellows. Through the Ireland Fellowship Programme, exceptional leaders from Tanzania, Seychelles, and the Democratic Republic of Congo will pursue their master’s degree in Ireland, gain skills, networks, and experiences that will empower them to drive change at home.
Over the coming months, each of these outstanding fellows will live, study, and immerse themselves in Ireland’s vibrant culture before returning to make a lasting impact in their communities.
Fellows from Tanzania
Joan Henry Francis - Computer Engineer: MSc in Data Science and Analytics, Munster Technological University
A Computer Scientist and Energy enthusiast, Joan aims to harness data for sustainable energy solutions. She plans to foster partnerships between Tanzania and Ireland, driving initiatives in energy, environment, and education.
Neema Meremo Samwel - Gender Coordination Specialist: MA in International Development, Maynooth University
With six years’ experience in gender and development, Neema will focus on SDG 5 - Gender Equality. She plans to champion the rights of women and girls, ensuring gender equality is central to Tanzania’s development agenda.
Charles Msigwa - Public Health Nutritionist: Master in Public Health (MPH), University College Cork
Charles has a passion for strengthening health systems through locally driven solutions, Charles is eager to learn from Ireland’s expertise in public health. He will use his skills to improve health and nutrition outcomes for vulnerable populations in Tanzania and beyond.
Teresia Simon Mamboy - Architect: MSc in Architecture, Urbanism and Climate Action, University College Dublin
As a Senior Architect, Teresia is expecting to deepen her expertise in sustainable design and low-carbon materials. She aims to pioneer climate resilient urban planning in Tanzania.
Mussa Saleh Ambika - Financial Analyst: MSc in Sustainable Finance, University College Dublin
Mussa is passionate about sustainability and climate finance. He is looking forward to positioning Tanzania to benefit from global climate funding while building a robust sustainable finance sector.
Halima Hussein - Computer Systems and Business Analyst: MSc in Data Analytics, Dublin Business School
Halima looks forward to gaining advanced analytical skills to develop data-driven solutions for public service delivery in Tanzania. She is excited about experiencing Ireland’s rich culture and its vibrant, inclusive communities.
Angel Geofrey Ngulumbi - Software Engineer: MEng in Robotics and Intelligent Manufacturing, University College Dublin
Angel is a software developer eager to merge hardware and software to create life-changing technologies. She also advocates for women in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) to pursue their ambitions confidently.
Sidney Eddyson Chalamila - Medical Doctor: MSc in Global Health Public, Trinity College Dublin
Sidney is looking forward to focus on antimicrobial resistance policy, access to medicines, and health financing. His goal is to contribute to Tanzania’s progress toward Universal Health Coverage.
Ailen Joseph Kakiko - Environmental Health Tutor: Master of Public Health (MPH), University College Dublin
Ailen is expecting to build public health expertise to improve environmental and health outcomes in line with Tanzania’s SDGs. She is looking forward to Ireland’s welcoming communities.
Albertina Mella - Mental Health Advocate: MA in Work and Organisational Behaviour, University College Cork
Albertina, founder of the Open Up Foundation, is committed to strengthening mental health awareness and care. She will use her Irish education to influence policy and create sustainable mental health programmes.
Fellows from the Seychelles
Bertrand Bailey - Occupational Therapist: Master of Health Sciences in International Healthcare Management, Atlantic Technological University
Bertrand is excited to explore technologies shaping the future of healthcare. Inspired by Irish culture and traditions, he plans to share his knowledge with governing bodies in Seychelles to improve healthcare delivery.
Pierre Brigilia - Communication and Information: MSc in Business Economics, University College Cork
Pierre sees Ireland as a world-class education destination. He hopes to collaborate with University College Cork to establish local training programmes in Seychelles, contributing to skills development in his community.
Fellows from the Democratic Republic of Congo
Patrick Rugusha - finance professional: Master’s in Finance, Trinity College Dublin
Patrick chose Ireland for its world-class education system, inclusive, diverse environment and reputation as a European hub for finance and fin-tech. He looks forward to learning from leading academics, networking with industry professionals, and exploring Irish culture. After his studies, he aims to modernise and strengthen his country’s financial infrastructure.
