Ambassador of Ireland to Serbia
Kevin Colgan
Welcome message
A Chairde/Dear Friends,
Welcome to the website of the Embassy of Ireland to the Republic of Serbia. The Embassy also has secondary accreditation to Montenegro.
It is my great personal and professional privilege to serve as the first resident Ambassador of Ireland in Belgrade and I had the honour to present my Letters of Credence to President Vučić on 8 October 2025. Together with the team at the Embassy of Ireland, I am proud to promote stronger cooperation and foster mutual understanding between the Government and people of Ireland and the Republic of Serbia.
Serbia and Ireland are similar sized countries in the West and East of Europe with surprising cultural and historical bonds – our folklore and mythology as well as music and storytelling traditions. Our two countries also have distinct but similar historical experiences that have shaped our strong sense of national pride and identity.
Since the establishment of diplomatic relations between our two countries in 1990, our bilateral ties have grown steadily. We established our presence here in September 2025 and are looking forward to opening our office in early 2026.
We will work to deepen the bilateral relations between our two countries, develop the rich cultural links already in place and showcase Ireland as an attractive place to visit, do business, study and live.
The Embassy is committed to serving Irish citizens abroad and additional information on our events and activities can be found on social media. I look forward to meeting with many of you in the coming months.
