Visit to Zielona Góra - July 2026

Ambassador Haughey visited Zielona Góra, one of the co-capitals of the Lubuskie Voivodeship on 15 July. The Ambassador met the Voivode (Governor) of Lubuskie, Marek Cebula, Deputy Mayor Jarosław Flakowski, and representative of the Marshal’s Office Łukasz Porycki, where he discussed bilateral cooperation between Poland and Ireland, as well as Ireland’s priorities for its EU Presidency.

Lubuskie is famous for its wine production, and Marcin Szatkowski of the Fundacja Tłocznia (wine pressers association) gave the Ambassador a tour of the city and some historic cellars, as well as a chance to sample some of the excellent local wine.
