Ireland at the OSCE
Ireland was one of the 35 original signatories of the Helsinki Final Act in 1975 and is a founding member of the OSCE
With 57 participating States from across North America, Europe, and Central Asia, the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) is the world’s largest regional security organisation.
Initially convened as a platform for dialogue, the Organisation now plays a vital role in fostering comprehensive security across its three dimensions: politico-military; economic and environmental; and human.
The OSCE has developed several institutions and structures to follow-up on the political decisions negotiated by the participating States.
