Irish Women's Rugby World Cup team waving after arriving at the airport on a bus

In conversation: Irish Women's Rugby World Cup team 2025

On Irish support and the Green Wave

As the Irish Women's Rugby team completed their final training session in Ireland before departing for England to compete in the Women's Rugby World Cup 2025, they spoke to us and reflected on the upcoming tournament.

The World Cup is falling close to home for the team, both with England as our neighbour, and also for those players who live and play club rugby in the United Kingdom.

Edel McMahon, Sam Monaghan, Cliodhna Moloney and Grace Moore told us what the green jersey means to them and the legacy they want to leave in this competition.

"The Irish supporters are the best fans in the world"
