Reading Ireland Series 2025

Read more about who has visited so far and who else we have lined up below, and keep an eye on our social media channels to watch as we add more writers to the programme.
Colm Tóibín
We were delighted to welcome Colm Tóibín to Frankfurt on 30 March to kick off the Reading Ireland series. Colm, who is best known for his novels, read from his poetry collection, Vinegar Hill, and discussed its many themes.

Alan Murrin’s debut novel, The Coast Road, earned him the title of Newcomer of the Year at the Irish Book Awards 2024, and was released in German in February. Alan visited both Gießen and Wiesbaden earlier this year.
Sam Thompson
Sam Thompson’s Wolfstongue Saga, aimed at younger readers, follows the adventures of a boy who finds himself in an underground city run by foxes. Sam visited Frankfurt to speak to students at the European School Frankfurt and the European School RheinMain about his series, which has also been released in German.
