Looking Back at Zeitgeist Irland 24

From our perspective in the Consulate, this year was shaped very positively by the season of Irish arts and culture in Germany throughout 2024, known as Zeitgeist Irland 24.

A joint initiative by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Culture Ireland, with promotional support provided by Tourism Ireland, this season brought a new generation of Irish artists to German audiences, including here in Hesse, Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland.

Zeitgeist Irland 24 gave Irish artists and creative groups a unique opportunity to present their work in this part of Germany, some of whom included Paul Lynch, the Undertones, Deirdre Kinahan, Musici Ireland, Fishamble Theatre Company, Dublin Touring Theatre, United Fall, Finding a Voice, Cyclone Rep, Pan Pan, A.S. Fanning, Louis Brennan, 3 on the Bund and Meant to Fade.

The season was delivered in collaboration with a very diverse range of German cultural institutions and venues across all three states, such as Staatstheater Mainz, The Keller Theatre in Giessen, Literaturhaus Frankfurt, ZOOM Frankfurt, Archiv Frau und Musik in Frankfurt, Dr. Hoch’s Conservatory in Frankfurt, Automat Artspace in Saarbruecken, IGS Landau, Ponyhof in Frankfurt and Volker Rebell in Offenbach.

We wish to extend our sincere thanks to our many excellent Irish, German and international partners, without whom this celebration of the richness and diversity of contemporary Irish culture would have been impossible to deliver.

As the curtain closes on the Zeitgeist Irland 24 season, we look forward to building upon these new and existing partnerships into the future. Watch this space!

Aus unserer Sicht im Konsulat, war dieses Jahr sehr positiv geprägt von der Saison irischer Kunst und Kultur in Deutschland im Jahr 2024, bekannt als Zeitgeist Irland 24.

Diese gemeinsame Initiative des Department of Foreign Affairs und Culture Ireland, die von Tourism Ireland gefördert wurde, brachte eine neue Generation irischer Künstler dem deutschen Publikum näher, auch hier in Hessen, Rheinland-Pfalz und im Saarland.

Zeitgeist Irland 24 bot irischen Künstlern und kreativen Gruppen eine einzigartige Gelegenheit, ihre Arbeit in diesem Teil Deutschlands zu präsentieren, darunter Paul Lynch, The Undertones, Deirdre Kinahan, Musici Ireland, Fishamble Theatre Company, Dublin Touring Theatre, United Fall, Finding a Voice, Cyclone Rep, Pan Pan, A.S. Der Spielplan wurde in Zusammenarbeit mit den unterschiedlichsten deutschen Kulturinstitutionen und Veranstaltungsorten in allen drei Bundesländern erstellt, wie dem Staatstheater Mainz, dem Kellertheater in Gießen, dem Literaturhaus, dem Archiv Frau und Musik, Dr. Hoch’s Koservatorium, dem Ponyhof sowie Zoom in Frankfurt, dem Automat Artspace in Saarbrücken, der IGS Landau, und Volker Rebell in Offenbach.

Wir möchten unseren vielen großartigen irischen, deutschen und internationalen Partnern, ohne die dieses Fest des Reichtums und der Vielfalt der zeitgenössischen irischen Kultur nicht möglich gewesen wäre, unseren aufrichtigen Dank aussprechen.
