Ambassador Luke Feeney

Curriculum Vitae

Ambassador Luke Feeney is the Representative of Ireland to the Political and Security Committee of the European Union. He took up duty in Brussels in August 2024.

Prior to his posting to Brussels, Luke served as the Director for Middle East and North Africa in the Irish Foreign Ministry. While there, he was responsible for the development and management of Ireland’s bilateral relations with Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Egypt, Israel, Palestine, and Jordan.

From 2018 to 2022, during a four-year leave of absence from the Irish Foreign Ministry, Luke worked in a private sector technology enterprise. He led business development and operations in the data management company.

Luke has served the Embassies in South Africa and Greece as well as in Ireland’s Permanent Mission to the UN in New York. Luke was the Head of the Government of Ireland’s Brexit Communications Team from 2017 to 2018.

Luke has academic degrees from Trinity College Dublin, the University of Edinburgh, and the Technological University Dublin.

He is married with four children.
