Latest visa updates

Visa applicants resident in Turkmenistan will now submit their visa applications to the Embassy of Ireland in Ankara, instead of the Embassy of Ireland in Moscow.

Visa applicants will no longer post their applications to Moscow, but instead will submit their application by post to Visa Application Centre (VAC) in Ankara managed by VFS Global on our behalf.

Applicants will submit their documents, and pay their fees, to VFS Global from 12 November 2025.

Applicants should be aware that applications received in Moscow after this date may be returned, unprocessed, to the applicant, who will be directed to submit to the Embassy of Ireland in Ankara.

Visa applicants resident in Georgia will now submit their visa applications to the Embassy of Ireland in Ankara, instead of the Embassy of Ireland in Sofia.

Visa applicants will no longer post their applications, but instead can submit their application in Tbilisi at a Visa Application Centre (VAC) managed by VFS Global on our behalf.

Applicants will be able to submit their documents, and pay their fees, at the VFS Global VAC from 12 May 2025. From 12 May 2025, applicants will be able the schedule appointments at the VAC for dates from 13 May 2025

Applicants should be aware that applications received in Sofia until 9th May 2025 will be processed by the Embassy of Ireland, Sofia.

Applications received in Sofia after that date may be returned, unprocessed, to the applicant, who will be directed to make an appointment at the VAC in Tbilisi.

Where an applicant appeals a negative decision, the appeal will be processed based on the relevant arrangements for the Embassy which processed the initial decision.
