Embassy history

Diplomatic relations between Ireland and Luxembourg were officially established on December 20, 1961. Following Ireland's accession to what was then the European Economic Community (EEC), Ireland set up its first diplomatic mission in Luxembourg on July 25, 1973, which subsequently became a resident Embassy in 1974.

Today, both countries enjoy excellent working relationships across all areas of government, as well as at business and community levels
