I am honoured to serve as Ireland’s second resident Ambassador to Ukraine.
Since its establishment in 2021, the Embassy of Ireland, located in the historic and vibrant city of Kyiv, has helped immeasurably to deepen the political, economic, cultural and community ties between our two countries.
Working with the team at the Embassy, I am committed to the further strengthening of bilateral relations between Ireland and Ukraine and to serving the needs of Irish citizens.
As a strong supporter of the UN Charter and international law, Ireland unequivocally condemns Russia’s ongoing full-scale war of aggression against Ukraine and temporary occupation of Ukrainian territory. Ireland remains unwavering in its support for Ukraine’s independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity within its internationally recognised borders.
With the support of this Embassy, Ireland is providing humanitarian aid to Ukraine, assisting Ukraine in its recovery and reconstruction, and supporting its programme of modernisation reforms in line with its EU accession path. Ireland strongly believes that Ukraine's future lies within the European Union and we will continue to support Ukraine on its European path.
At the current time, the Department of Foreign Affairs strongly advises Irish citizens against all travel to Ukraine, due to the severe risk posed by the ongoing conflict, and as the Embassy’s ability to provide support is severely curtailed. Even in these difficult times, the Embassy stands ready to support Irish individuals, businesses, public bodies and educational and cultural institutions engaging remotely with counterparts in Ukraine. Please reach out and let us know if we can assist you in any way.
