Irish community in Kenya

Ireland has a vast global diaspora, with tens of millions of people across the world who proudly celebrate their Irish roots. This widespread community forms a natural network with influence that extends worldwide.

Ireland and Kenya have a long history of friendship and a strong record of collaboration. The Irish community in Kenya is well established, vibrant and active. The Government of Ireland, through its Embassy in Nairobi is proud to support the Irish community through initiatives such as the Emigrant Support Programme.

The Embassy of Ireland regularly hosts community events, so Irish citizens resident in Kenya are encouraged to register with the Embassy to be included on the invite mailing list.

There is also a strong affinity diaspora or ‘honorary Irish’ network here in Kenya. Many Kenyans, through work, study and travel also celebrate their connections and contributions to Ireland through Irish Community events in Kenya.
