Launch of Irish Network in 2025

The Embassy of Ireland launched an Irish Network in February 2025 with an objective to grow connections between Jordan and Ireland. To date, four events of the network have taken place with guest speakers providing inspiring insights into a number of sectors to enhance the deepening of contacts across a number of diverse sectors.

The first event included guest speaker, Cork native, Thomas Brosnan, a hospitality professional working in Aqaba in Jordan who provided an overview of his career and leadership in this important industry as well as his pursuits in award winning swimming activities in the Red Sea.

The second event provided an overview of the important work being carried out by the Gaza Field Office of the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, by Bray native, Neil Tobin. The Embassy was proud that Neil’s work was also highlighted in the St Patrick’s Day Video 2025.

The third gathering of the Irish Network featured Rasha Al Beik, General Manager of Chanelle Pharma in Jordan, as the guest speaker. Chanelle Pharma, a leading Irish pharmaceutical company based in Galway, has maintained a presence in Jordan since 2008. Rasha Al Beik gave an overview of the growth of the company’s Jordan facility, including a dedicated research and development laboratory in Amman.

The final event in 2025 was a focus on Education in Ireland provided by Enterprise Ireland team members, Cara Edwards and Elizabeth McHenry and representatives from some of Ireland’s top Universities including: University College Dublin, Dublin City University and University College Cork.

The Irish Network Jordan initiative continues to provide a valuable forum for building connections, sharing insights, and strengthening the overall relationship between Ireland and Jordan. It also offers a platform to explore opportunities in areas such as business, education, innovation, and culture, while supporting Irish citizens and Jordanian partners in maintaining strong links with one another.
