Ambassador-Designate of Ireland to Japan
Ambassador-Designate Noel White
Message from Ambassador-Designate Noel White
Hello!
Welcome to our Embassy website. My name is Noel White, and I am the recently appointed Ambassador-Designate of Ireland to Japan.
At the Embassy we are working to promote Ireland’s political and economic relations with Japan, to enhance awareness and knowledge of Ireland and to support Irish citizens in this country.
Ireland and Japan have a deep and abiding relationship in many areas including trade, investment, culture and people-to-people links, founded upon a shared commitment to multilateralism and the rules based international order.
2025 marked an important milestone with the opening by the Taoiseach, Micheál Martin, of our new Embassy premises in Tokyo, Ireland House.
As we prepare to celebrate 70 years of diplomatic relations in 2027, Ireland House provides the ideal platform from which to develop our outreach, promote our shared interests and deepen our friendship into the future.
These activities and more can be followed on X at @IrishEmbJapan and @IEAmbJapan, as well as on Instagram at @irelandinjapan.
I am delighted and honoured to have been appointed to this role, and I look forward to exciting years ahead working for Ireland in Japan.
