Consul General of Ireland in Toronto
Claire Fitzgibbon
A chairde / Dear friends,
Welcome to the website of the Consulate General of Ireland in Toronto.
The Consulate was established in September 2022 as part of the Global Ireland initiative, a whole-of-government strategy to double the scope and impact of Ireland’s global engagement over a 7-year period from 2018 to 2025.
The remit of the Consulate includes the Provinces of Ontario (except for the National Capital Region), Manitoba and Saskatchewan. Working in close cooperation with the Embassy of Ireland in Ottawa, and with Enterprise Ireland, the IDA and Tourism Ireland in Toronto, as well as the offices of Screen Ireland and Bord Bia covering Canada, the Consulate General team promotes Irish interests across our consular area.
A key part of our role is supporting the vibrant Irish community in our consular area. I look forward to meeting many members of the Irish community and friends of Ireland during my time as Consul General. You will find a listing of Irish Community events in our region here. If you would like to see your event advertised on our website, please send us the details via this link.
This website contains lots of information about the work of the Consulate and the services we provide, as well as the work of our colleagues at the Embassy of Ireland in Ottawa, the Consulate General of Ireland in Vancouver, and the Irish State Agencies working in Canada, which I hope you will find useful.
Please note that some consular services, including visas, continue to be provided by the Embassy of Ireland in Ottawa.
You can follow me on X @IrlCGToronto and you can also follow the work of the Consulate General on Facebook, X, LinkedIn and Instagram. You can also subscribe to our newsletter here.
Kind regards,
Claire Fitzgibbon
